HIGH EFFICIENCY SLIM RADIATOR by RRS

New Radiator

RRS will supply the mounting brackets with the radiator to be able to use an original BA through to FG radiator and factory air conditioning condenser. The client will also be supplied paper templates to trim radiator support panel to make it fit and some guidelines on trimming the actual radiator tanks to clear the bonnet. It will use all original hoses clamps and mounting fixtures AND THE PARTS that are necessary to come from RRS to mount the rest of the radiator will be approx. $230 Header tank – comes with mounting bracket and guidelines for trimming and mounting that Again a paper drilling template depending if they use the original tank somewhere around $120 - $150 If it is a custom tank, this is priced on application.

AIR CLEANER AND AIR FILTER

At this point in time we have a factory mounted air filter with a modified mounting bracket again that will come with a drilling template and guidelines for fitment. RRS will have a molded PVC hose to fit on the single throttled body and duel throttled body. I plan on making an adaptor for both of those.

Mod Motor Radiator

To fit a late model V8 to a vintage Mustang or falcon there are a number of significant changes that are required and RRS can provide the solutions for these particular things.

Shock tower clearance – we have a special set of shock towers to provide clearance for that.

The transmission tunnel – this is a do it yourself arrangement.

Modifications to the radiator support panel.

So now I will just demonstration how to modify a radiator support panel on a 67 – 70 Mustang and firstly the paneling should be stripped clean and bare of all fittings this will make it a lot easier as seen in the photos.

The RRS cutting templates are taped to the radiator support panel as seen lining up all the appropriate markings and then mark out the paneling cuts as seen. Also before the templates are taped in place they should be trimmed with scissors as demonstrated.

It is best to trim this paneling a little at a time either using nibblers, shears, air hacksaw or even a grinder.

Before the paper templates are taped in place, they should be trimmed with scissors to either suit a BA to FG air conditioning condenser or a non air cond. application. This is marked on the paper template

Tape the paper templates in place lining up the panel markings behind the radiator support panel Line up all of the appropriate markings and mark the panel for cutting.

RRS recommends either using nibblers, an air hacksaw or the appropriate cut wheel to trim the panel carefully to match the paper templates.

Mark the chassis rails 750mm apart, this should be approximately in the middle of each rail. Mark from the radiator support panel 50mm.

Mark from the radiator support panel 50mm.

Using a hole-saw, drill a 32mm hole in each rail. This will allow the fitment of original BA to FG radiator mounting grommets.

Grease the radiator mounting pegs attach the RRS radiator mounting brackets to the radiator tank, then push the radiator fully into the grommets. Mark the radiator support panel to drill the mounting hole locations.

Drill the 2 holes then fit the grommets and crush tubes

Adjust the lock nuts so that the Radiator is secured use even tension on each side to avoid causing excessive radiator twist due to chassis variation.

The top of the radiator tank require the removal of the top original grommet pegs to allow bonnet clearance.

Once the radiator is installed the hoses should be connected as shown. If a pushrod motor is installed the radiator fill neck and cap should be installed in the top radiator hose and the original fill locations blanked off. If the modular V8 is being used either the top fill neck or radiator purge tank can be installed
